Student Talk: Insights into Successful Food Product Development

The Singapore Institute of Food Science and Technology (SIFST) successfully organised the Student Talk: Insights into Successful Food Product Development on 6 November 2024 at Republic Polytechnic. The event brought together students from Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs) to gain first-hand insights into the exciting world of food product development.

The session featured experienced industry professionals who shared their expertise and practical experiences in transforming innovative ideas into successful commercial food products. Participants gained valuable knowledge on the product development journey, including innovation strategies, understanding consumer needs, overcoming market challenges, and translating scientific concepts into products that meet industry and consumer expectations.

Beyond the technical knowledge shared, the event provided students with a deeper appreciation of the diverse career opportunities within the food science and technology sector. Through engaging presentations and discussions, attendees were encouraged to think creatively, embrace innovation, and explore future careers in food research, product development, quality assurance, and manufacturing.
